The Transverter Module for the ADT-200A ADAT Transceiver by Hans HB9CBU

It took a while to complete the project - but Hans finally succeeded in finishing this very ambitious project: A 6m, 4m and 2m transverter module for the ADT-200A.


This beauty is a complete receive and transmit module for the 6m, 4m and 2m Amateur Radio frequency bands. See also more information on HB9CBU's website. Along with the new module a much improved and enhanced firmware version was developed by Hans: Version 1.40g is available for all ADT-200A owners directly from Hans HB9CBU.

When installed into the ADT-200A, the back of the devices now has some more antenna sockets:



On the frontpanel, the newly available frequencies along with new features for e.g. FM modulation are selectable. The ADT-200A is more than 10 years old now but still gets improvements through software upgrades. The quality of the RF and also audio sections in this device made Prof. Dr. Ulrich Rohde designate the ADT-200A as the "Swiss Jewel".



I keep enjoying this transceiver as it lets me develop new accessories and also new software. As there are now new frequencies available I also updated the ADT-200A driver within Hamlib. The current 4.5.5 version does not yet include the new driver features - so as of 2023-10-03 we have to wait for a new release of Hamlib to include the new capabilities.

A thousand thanks to Hans, HB9CBU, for his continued energy to invest time (and money) into this fantastic TRX - making an excellent device even better.

Hi,

excellent news that the transverter is out for now and available.
It would be nice to see video how the transverter works.
Congrats for your nice setup.

I never had chance to testing ADT-200A but I believe it is good on CW too.

Compiling ACE+TAO on Mac OS X

So, what's ACE+TAO? It's big, it's complex, it's middleware! See more info at http://www.cs.wustl.edu/~schmidt/ACE.html and at http://www.cs.wustl.edu/~schmidt/TAO.html . In trying to compile ACE 5.7.5 and TAO 1.7.5 on my Mac OS X 10.5.8 system I encountered some strange error messages while linking. These were duplicate symbol errors I couldn't really track down to their root cause but was able to find simple cures. Aloha! Wow - I always refused to have a blog. Now, well, here it is - my own blog. I don't know yet how frequently I will post or what the posts will be about. So, this is the all-in-one-you-must-have-a-blog first post. There's some other places I can be found:  USENET newsgroup comp.lang.lisp - watch out for posts from "frgo". On the ether: I enjoy doing Ham Radio. If you listen carefully on the 20m band (14.000,00 kHz to 14.350,00 kHz) you might hear me under my callsign DG1SBG.
